Write Anything Wednesday #67

You know the drill, write something. Why? It’s a great day to write and I say why not? Write absolutely anything. Try your hand at flash fiction or write a poem. Make an outline or character sketch. Write a chapter, or as many chapters as you can. Nothing to write about? Try making a list of ideas or free-write. Make Wednesday your weekly no-matter-what writing day. If this isn’t a good day then pick another. The important thing is to simply write.

If you feel stumped grab a timer and do ten minute sprints. The first time you do this might not garner great results but the more you do the more you get used to it and your muse will start to shine.

If you would like a prompt:

  • No one can go outside in a storm because the rain is toxic.
  • Forget the crazy cat lady, what about the neurotic goat lady?
  • Your pet zombie escaped…

Happy writing!

  1. I actually did write a poem today. My oldest friend recently had to put her beloved ‘Mo in an urn. I just happened to text her asking about something else when she shared this. She’s a mess right now, so I texted a few words back in sympathy, then decided to send her a card. I found one online which allowed me to send an additional note. So I wrote her a poem. The words just came. She won’t receive the card right away, but when it does arrive, it is my hope it will be on a day when she really needs some comfort. My poem may be just right for the occasion.
